Walthers rises prices as October 20th. 2008 as predicted

As we predicted in February, Walthers has risen prices for Marklin, Trix and Minitrix products.
Even when the decrease on cost of Euro is now a fact, they have now risen prices based in an increase of about 4% to 8% by the Factory in Germany.

It is well known, that Walthers made a special deal with Marklin Inc. and Marklin GmbH to have a preferential exchange rate during the year to keep "happy" USA Dealers that were concerned with the future of Marklin in USA due the problems of distribution and prices that always Walthers had in the past.

At the current Euro price of today, it makes no sense to rise prices as the only thing they are doing, is to put more ground on the Marklin grave in USA.

If they do not lower the prices to a competitive price with German Dealers, Customers will fly to Europe to get their products as they have always done when the US Dollar has been strong.

Micro Macro Mundo will keep the policy to price each item at the time of import based in actual cost and exchange rate at date of import, what makes us very competitive with German Dealers and the cheapest in USA.

Of course, some items may be higher priced if we bought them when Dollar was weak and we still have stock, but normally, we average prices with new stock arriving each week from Germany.
